As an Air Force Vietnam Era veteran and father of two, Rod attended Indiana University, Bloomington, receiving a B.S. Degree in Geology in 1979. Rod is currently in his 28th year in the industry and beginning his 20th year with Chevron. Rod currently provides support geophysics for the New Orleans Shelf Exploration and Asset Development Team in addition to conducting exploration mapping over key focus areas of the Louisiana shelf. Prior to this tour with Chevron, Rod had previously worked for Texaco (twice) and Belco Petroleum with short tours at Teknica, Schlumberger and Champlin (but let’s not go there). Throughout his career Rod has enjoyed a mixture of exploration and development geology roles as well as more technical geophysical assignments. The majority of his recent experience has been focused upon Time-2-Depth and PSDM velocity modeling across the GOM deep water areas and the Louisiana shelf. Rod served previously as the 2007-2008 SGS Editor.
